LIQUID JUDEAN BITUMEN – 0040

CHARACTERISTICS
This very old product is used to tint waxes or to enhance the volume of a molding or a sculpture. Very great possibility of gradations in the browns.

APPLICATION
In a paste or liquid wax, do not exceed 8 to 10% of the total, as this will affect the drying of the wax.

THE PATINES
Judean Bitumen is generally used on already waxed wood, which avoids too much penetration. It can be diluted with White Spirit. Apply with a brush over the entire surface to be patinated, then wipe off the excess with a cloth to shade the relief.

FINISH
After drying, about 1 to 2 hours, the patinated area can be gently waxed, taking care not to remove the Bitumen. It is possible to varnish after a wax and a patina with Shellac 0507 or 0552. The use of other varnishes is risky because Judean Bitumen is never permanently dry. Cleaning of tools and dilution: with White Spirit.
