WORMWOOD REINFORCER – 0620

FEATURES
:

This reinforcer can give a certain hardness to worm-eaten wood, but it does not reinforce the mechanical strength: gilded wood, wooden statuary art, elements of sculpture, furniture, woodwork, wooden objects.

APPLICATION
:

This reinforcement can be applied by brush, syringe or dip. It is used on a dry and dust-free wood, it is not necessary to empty the galleries of their sawdust. For gilding, use only on water gilding of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, for gilding of the nineteenth century to the mixion, ensure that the reinforcer is not in contact with it which could eliminate it. The same goes for paints and lacquers. Make a preliminary test.

With a brush: apply abundantly until saturation. Repeat the operation after the first treatment has hardened as many times as necessary.

By injection with a syringe: this application is reserved for partially attacked or delicate parts. Use a syringe with a large “trocar” needle. For wormholes, inject reinforcement into all areas to be treated. Repeat the operation until the altered areas are filled.

Dipping: method reserved for elements or objects that are very altered. Immerse until the product penetrates into the heart and then remove. Let dry. If necessary, repeat the operation in small successive soaks to avoid soaking the previous operations. To remove excess reinforcement from the exterior, use 0299 gel stripper, then apply a suitable finish. Do not use on 19th century gilding with mixion.

Tool cleaning: with 0299 stripper or acetone.

Drying and hardening: on the surface the reinforcement dries in 1 to 2 hours depending on the ambient temperature, in the core a certain time depending on the thickness treated.
